About Sarah

Sarah Thomas has 10 years of experience as a physical therapist working with athletes, children, and orthopedic patients in San Diego. A graduate of Marymount University, Sarah started her clinical practice in a military setting where she became an Orthopedic Certified Specialist (OCS) and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). It was at this time that she integrated the Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA) with her patients after seeing great outcomes regarding reductions of pain and improvements of strength.  In 2013, Sarah began working with juvenile athletes, from gymnasts to football players, and became a Sports Certified Specialist (SCS). She focused her training on safely returning athletes to the field with low probability of injury reoccurrence.  Sarah’s treatment plans incorporate advanced manual therapy skills, functional movement exercises, and strategies to independently reduce symptoms. She is excited to join the team at New Motion PT. Joined New Motion in 2016
